I am a new user. How do I get started?
Please read our New User Instructions.

I can't figure out how to contact the owner of this animal. Can you help?
The owner contact form and owner contact information is located towards the bottom of the full-page ad. Be sure you are opening the full-page ad and not just looking at the search results list. There should be a "VIEW" button in the left column of the search list. If the animal has a photo, you can click on the photo or the VIEW button. There is also link to a full-page of information about the owner. This page contains a description of the owner's ranch or business and a zip code map.

What is one of the important things I should do before buying any animal?
Get a pre-purchase vet exam by a qualified veterinarian!

What does Private Treaty Mean?
Private Treaty means a private sale between two consenting parties

When I press the BACK button on my browser, it says the page is expired and I have to refresh or reload.
If you are having trouble with this, try viewing the animal using the "VIEW AD" button, you will then see a "BACK TO LIST" button on the ad which can be used to go back to the ad instead of the BACK button on your browser menu. This BACK TO LIST button only appears if you have used the VIEW AD button to begin with.


Does this cost anything?
Text ads are free. We charge a small amount for photo ads. Click here for more details.

I sent you an order/photo. Did you receive it?
1. All orders generate a confirmation email. If you did not get a confirmation email, you can check the status of your order by logging into your Dream Cattle account and clicking the Listings tab. You will be able to see a history of your current and past ads.

2. If you uploaded your photo, you should see it appear in a confirmation web page screen in your browser as soon as it finishes uploading. If you have any question about whether it uploaded correctly, just try again using the SAME Order# as before until you see it appear or you can attach it to an email and send it to us at photos@dreamcattle.com. Please be SURE to put your Cattle ID in the subject line of this email.

3. If you uploaded your photo, it will not show as an instant image if you already have a final photo on your ad, if you type the Order# in the wrong format, or if you are mailing us your payment.

4. If you tried to upload one over the other and are still seeing the first one, it is probably saved in your browser's history so using the set option will let you see the new one in this case too. You can also try to REFRESH the image using your browser's REFRESH button on the photo.

5. If it has been over 5 days since you ordered: YES, there is probably some problem with your order or your photo. Most likely, we have not found your photo or your order did not go through. Please try sending or uploading the photo again! We do send out email letting you know that your order is ON HOLD and why, but this does take us a few days if we are very busy. We go through these looking for the photos a couple of times a week and emailing customers requesting photos.

Does it cost anything to REPLACE or UPDATE a photo?
No, unless it's the photo for a Featured Ad, then there is a $10.00 charge. You can edit or replace the photos in your normal ads anytime at no charge..


I can't remember my Password. Can you send it to me?
The fastest way you can get your Site login is from our automatic Password Request program. All you need is your registered username and your password will be mailed immediately to the email address we have on file for you.


I keep getting a message that I have used an incorrect password. Why is this?
The first thing is to check your password with our system and have it emailed to you. Then be sure you are typing it in, not relying on information that may be saved in your browser. If there is already something in the browser window, delete it out and re-enter it. Be sure that you are capitalizing the password exactly like you originally entered it. You may need to clear your browser's cache.

Can you help me with my images?
Most of the time you will not need our assistance with image preparation. We recommend using images no larger than 400 pixels wide (if they are too large, they will not increase their size if they are smaller than 400 pixels). If you need our assistance we can prepare your images for you for a small fee. Also, please see our Image Preparation Tips.

I'm just shopping, not selling. Do I need to register?
We'd like you to register, but it is not required. Registering allows you to have your own Profile page where you can save your favorite animals and searches.

How long does it take for my text ad to appear online?
Your text ad should appear online after we approve it. We do this to maintain the high standards of our site. Normally you will see your ad appear within one business day of submission. If it does not appear within one business day and we have not contacted you because of a problem, it probably did not save properly. To confirm that your ad is on our site, login and see if it is listed in your ads next to the edit button.


How long does it take for my photo to appear online?
If you pay online by credit card your photos will appear when your ad does. If we are producing the images for your ad they will normally appear within 2 to 3 days of receipt of your photo (sooner if possible but it can be longer depending on circumstances). If you wish to send payment by mail, we will get the photos online upon receipt of your payment. We do not invoice for photo ads. We need to have payment in advance.


When do you process my credit card?
Our secure online ordering system allows us to approve and complete your order before processing your credit card.

When does the time for my ad start?
The time for your ad starts from the date that your order is online.

How do I know when my photo will expire?
Your photos will expire at the same time as your ad. You will receive an email from us before your ad expires with plenty of time for you to renew your ad if you wish. If your ad expires you will be able to re-list it for 30 days after it expires.

How do I Prepare my Image for Upload?
The image should be saved as a JPG with a filename ending in ".jpg". The image should be no more than 400 pixels in width. When saved, the file should be less than 750 KB. You should know where to find the image on your computer. Please see our Image Preparation Tips.


How do I upload my photo?
Have your photo ready by saving it on your computer in the JPG image format with the size less than 750 KB. When you fill in our upload form, you will see a "Browse" button which is a small box with three small dots. Clicking on the box will allow you to select the image you want to use from your local hard drive. Please make a note of your final Order#.


Where do I email my photo?
We have a new UPLOAD PROGRAM that we hope will eliminate the need to email photos to us. However, we do still accept photos by email when necessary. Attach your photo, put your Advertisement I.D. in the Subject Line, and email to photos@dreamcattle.com. Note: this email is NOT for support issues.

How do I attach my photo to an email?
If you have been unable to use our upload form (see above), you may email your image to us. Create a new email to photos@dreamcattle.com. Most email programs have an "Attach" button with a paper clip logo and/or a menu option to "Attach" something to the email. Click the button or select the Attach option and choose your image file (JPG preferred) to your email.


I don't know how to get my image the right size and make it look right. Can you help?
Yes. It helps to have a good, sharp photo to start with and although we can improve the images somewhat we cannot work miracles. There is a 5 MB limit on the size of email we can receive. If your photo is around 400 x 300 pixels it should be less than 100K if saved in JPG format. See our image Preparation Tips.

Where can I send my photo and/or check by regular mail?
If you would like to mail your order into us for publication please see our Mail In section for the information you will need to provide us and send your images and pertinent information to:

Can I put more than one photo on an ad?
Yes, you can place up to 4 photos in your ad. but remember that our price is per photo per month. See our pricing here.

Can I use a collage of photos instead of just one photo for the price of one photo?
Yes you can, but the photo size will be reduced to the normal size of one photo, (not to exceed 400 pixels on the largest side).

I am going to renew my ad. Can I send you a better picture?
Yes. You can replace your image at anytime. However if you add an additional image to your advertisement there will be an additional charge. This is especially useful on young animals that are changing so quickly!


How much traffic does the Dream Cattle site get?
Currently our site is new so even though our traffic statistics are not yet available the numbers are increasing daily. We continue to do extensive marketing to drive traffic to the site and increase your exposure.


I tried to register; submitted the information and received an error message. I tried again, and was told I was already registered. Can you help me?
First try getting your password from our automatic Password Request program. If you are registered (with the correct email address) it will find you and email you your login information. If that doesn't work, please let us know.

My animal is sold. Can you please remove it?
Dream Cattle gives you full control of your ads and we need you to be responsible for marking your animal as sold. All you need to do is login and you can edit, mark sold, renew, or delete your ads anytime. In other words, we prefer that you manage your own ads as much as possible. If you delete all your ad, your account will remain on our system for future use. If your animal is sold, we ask that you login and mark your animal "Sold" rather than deleting it immediately so others can see that Dream Cattle really works!

Do animals really sell here?
If you want to see for yourself, go to our Advanced Search and run a search for ANY BREED, ANY STATE, and click ONLY SHOW SOLD ADS and you will see recently sold animals.

I don't want to put my real email online. What do you suggest?
We suggest setting up a free web-based email account at Hotmail.com, Mail.com or Yahoo.com just for your ads.

Can I put an ad on for a friend who does not have a computer?
Yes, but you won't be able to use your own email address twice.

When I login, I can only see one animal to edit and I should have more
Click the Cattle Button and you will see all the animals that you have for sale.

I tried to add a ad and there was an error. Do I have to start over?
As soon as you get the error, press the back button on your browser, correct your ad making sure to fill in all required fields, and re-submit. You should not have to re-type the ad.

I need to EDIT my ad. How do I do this?
Everything starts with logging into our system. After you login, you will see a button that says "CATTLE". Find your animal from the selection list and press "EDIT".

I need to DELETE my ad. How do I do this?
Everything starts with logging into our system. After you login, Click the CATTLE button and you will see a list of all the animals you have on Dream Cattle. Select the animal you wish to delete and press the "DELETE AD" button. Be careful, once deleted, it is completely erased from our system and we cannot restore it back for you.

I marked my animal as SOLD and the deal fell through. How to I set it back to Un-Sold?
Just Login, go to the Cattle button, find your animal and click on Activate and your animal will not display as sold.

Will you send me a renewal notice?
Yes. We will automatically email you a 7-day renewal notice to your registered email address. Please login to renew your text or photo ads. If YOU don't renew your ad, it will be deleted automatically 30 days after it expires. You will be able to relist an ad that has expired during that time without re-entering all your information. Also, please be sure that your email address is registered correctly and be sure to allow dreamcattle.com through any spam blocker you have in place. If your email address is incorrect, you will not receive a notice (and no response to your ads either)!

My email address has changed. How do I update it?
Just login and click the "Edit User Info" button. This is where you can update your email, phone, ranch description, etc.

I updated email address and/or phone but the old one still shows on the FROM lines of the Contact Owner and Send to a Friend forms. How do I update it?
This is because there is a "cookie" stored on your computer that holds this information so that you don't have to type it in every time. If you login again, these cookies should be refreshed with the new information. Login Here.

How can I put banner ads on Dream Cattle Classifieds?
Currently we do in-column ads up to 110 pixels wide on our home page and our advertiser's page. Advertisements display on a rotation basis per page view on our home page. See our Advertise with Us page for more details.

I believe I am a victim of internet fraud. Where can I file a complaint?
Fraud does happen and we urge you to protect yourself and exercise due diligence when purchasing cattle through our web site. Always check out any seller thoroughly purchasing any cattle. Never send money by wire transfer or other forms of instant cash payment that cannot be traced. Read the tips put out by the Internet Fraud Complaint Center. File an internet fraud complaint. Be sure to read our Terms of Use Agreement.

I don't want to mess with your order form. Can I send you my credit card in an email?
Please don't send us your credit card information by email. Email is not secure and it is never a good idea to send confidential information by email. Additionally we get so much email, it is easily overlooked. Please use our secure online order form instead.

I don't want to put my credit card on the internet. Can I give it to you on the phone?
Sorry, we do not do phone orders but we do accept checks as payment. If you choose to pay by check for your ad it will not be visible until your payment has been received and clears the bank, usually 3-5 business days after we receive your payment.
